Before uploading, I had sent the piece to a friend. He had mentioned that it reminded him of André 3000. I went and checked out some of his recent work, and one that stuck out to me was ‘Ants to you, Gods to who ?’ from his 2023 album ‘New Blue Sun’. André was a huge artist back in the day, widely recognised from his time in Outkast, with Big Boi. Similar to the other names mentioned in my essay, they were also from Atlanta and had a unique sound and style; with one of their most well known tracks being ‘Hey Ya!’, a seemingly happy upbeat track but with some contrasting lyrics and an extremely iconic video portraying the artist as multiple people in a band.
