In the first year a lot of my projects had heavy emphasis on voice. Thought Artist, was created as a show of my ability to create sound art, with the material being presented in the project doubting said ability. Unheard screams, my first collaboration, had me only using my voice for the screams and the final voice over when we all had to add an element. I’m sure I only sent in a raw vocal and it was edited by someone else but I cannot remember. I wanted to stop using my voice as much going forward, but I was advised to modulate it and keep it apart of my works rather than completely obscure it. So when I was working on my gallery piece, I decided to do just that; use my voice to portray multiple people and use some audio effects to amplify the work. For this project, If went down the route of the sound piece about fashion my voice would most likely not be a part of it which isn’t an issue, but I realised on looking back on these old projects, that I would like some continuity to them. There’s always time for me to look at certain subjects and create works on them. So ideally this will be a ‘sequel’ to ‘Thought Artist’.
