For this project, I am planning on researching the correlations between fashion and music, particularly high fashion and rap music in the 2010s (as well as the last few years in the 2020s). This idea comes from my interest in both art forms. Over the years, I’ve wanted to make music and had thoughts of starting a clothing brand, with friends and peers around me trying their hand at both mediums to varying success.
I recently have begun one of these ventures, releasing 2 songs and currently working on more, alongside my DJing with the goal of being a multidisciplinary artist. Many artists in recent years have branched out and began working outside or alongside the music discipline by taking endorsements, streaming on platforms like twitch, creating lifestyle brands or creating clothing brands, which I will explore throughout this project. My current goal is to create a sound piece that combines sound and fashion.
