Wednesday 15th November
With the deadline a week away and my studio time 2 days before it, I have to put in some serious leg work to get the project wrapped up. I’ve rented out a H5 from the kit room with the intention of using it to record some audio. I also began using soundly as I knew I had to start putting the scene together and there are sounds I’m not going to be able to find in the time I have left.
I started by adding outdoor and indoor ambience to the track to show the movement from outside to inside.
I felt the track needed some general ambience as well so I added that in to fill out the ‘nothingness’. To differentiate the rooms in the house, I added a dripping sound. At this point, I started experimenting with the ‘room’ affect so instead of the sounds just being there, the exist within the world sonically.
I added more action sounds, like the man placing and hammering the board into place as well as the phone vibrating. I really like what ive done with the hammer sound in terms of off screen sound. As the focus shifts to Rocky, the audio is sonically distant from where we are now.
The phone sounds was also from soundly, as well as the safe. I chopped a few of the sounds up to make them more unique as I didn’t want things to seem too much like the originals.
I began recording some of the movement in the scene at home. It isn’t perfect but I will try to correct it in my studio session next week while I wrap up the project.
